In short: your strings go directly from your Mac to the AI provider you choose, or stay on your machine with a local model. They never pass through our servers.
Your projects and strings
Auto Localize reads the projects and localization files you open on your Mac. When you run AI localization, the text to be translated, along with context such as comments and language names, is sent directly from your Mac to the provider you configured:
- OpenAI or Google Gemini, using your own API key, under that provider’s terms and privacy policy;
- or a local model (LM Studio, Ollama or another endpoint you specify), in which case nothing leaves your network.
App Store Connect
If you connect an App Store Connect API key, the app talks directly to Apple’s App Store Connect API to read and update your app metadata and screenshots. Your API keys are stored locally on your Mac and are never sent to us.
Information we collect
Current versions of Auto Localize don’t send personal data to us. Earlier versions sent a random device identifier, the app version, trial status and App Store purchase receipts to our server (autolocalize.mozkan.com, formerly autolocalize.app). That data is kept only as long as needed to support customers who still use those versions.
Logs
Auto Localize may keep diagnostic logs on your Mac. They are never sent automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, Turkey’s KVKK or California’s CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we don’t use accounts, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. If you want us to delete data linked to an anonymous identifier, write to us and include the identifier shown in the app’s settings, if any.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. The app checks your purchases using Apple’s signed transaction data on your device.
Children
Auto Localize is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.
Security
Data sent to our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored on servers we operate in the United States with access restricted to the developer. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date.
